LAIDNA M2M Platform: One Dashboard for Your Entire Connected Fleet

The LAIDNA M2M Platform unifies live fleet tracking, JT/T 1078-2016 video surveillance, remote device control, OTA firmware updates and subscription management in a single cloud dashboard. Built on open standards — JT/T 808-2019, MQTT 5.0, CoAP and REST APIs.

Fleet management has reached an inflection point. A decade ago, tracking a vehicle meant reading coordinates from a simple SMS. Today, a single cloud dashboard can show you every vehicle on a live map, stream live camera footage from inside the cab, push a firmware update to 500 devices simultaneously, and cut an engine remotely — all within seconds. This is exactly what the LAIDNA M2M Platform delivers.

What Is the LAIDNA M2M Platform?

The LAIDNA M2M (Machine-to-Machine) Platform is an industrial IoT cloud designed for vehicle telematics, fleet operations, and connected asset management. It acts as the central nervous system between your physical hardware and your management team, processing millions of messages per day with sub-second latency.

The platform is protocol-agnostic at its core. It natively speaks JT/T 808-2019 (the Chinese national standard for vehicle tracking terminals), JT/T 1078-2016 (the video surveillance communication standard for road transport), MQTT 5.0, CoAP/LwM2M, AMQP 1.0, and standard HTTP REST APIs. This means any Chinese-standard telematics device — and virtually any MQTT-capable IoT sensor — connects without gateway modifications.

Real-Time Fleet Map

The live map is the platform's centerpiece. Every connected vehicle is represented as a dynamic marker updated in real time. Fleet managers can see the last known position, current speed, heading, ignition status, and triggered alarms at a glance. Clicking any vehicle opens a sidebar with its full telemetry stream, including engine diagnostics pulled over the J1939 or OBD-II interface.

Route history playback allows you to replay any vehicle's journey — second by second — for up to 90 days (Fleet plan) or with custom retention on Enterprise. Geofence rules can trigger instant push notifications when a vehicle enters or leaves a defined area, or when a boundary is crossed outside permitted hours.

JT/T 1078-2016: Live Video & Camera Management

The JT/T 1078-2016 protocol was designed specifically for road transport video monitoring — and the LAIDNA M2M Platform implements it in full. Fleet operators can view live feeds from up to 8 simultaneous camera channels per vehicle: forward-facing, driver-facing (DMS), side mirrors, cargo bay, and interior. Each stream is tagged with GPS coordinates and timestamp overlays.

AI-triggered events — such as driver fatigue detection, mobile phone use, seatbelt removal, or sudden braking — automatically create video clips attached to incident reports. These clips are searchable by vehicle, date, driver, or event type. Remote snapshot capture allows supervisors to request a still image from any camera at any time.

Remote Device Control

One of the most operationally impactful features is bidirectional device control. Via the JT/T 808 command set, operators can send standardized messages to any connected terminal:

  • Engine cut-off — immobilize a stolen or unauthorized vehicle
  • Door lock / unlock — for delivery fleet access control
  • Relay control — trigger ancillary equipment such as temperature control units
  • Parameter reconfiguration — update reporting intervals, server endpoints, or tracking thresholds remotely
  • Text and audio alerts — broadcast messages directly to the in-vehicle terminal

OTA Firmware Update Campaigns

Maintaining a fleet of hundreds or thousands of devices at the correct firmware version is one of the most underestimated operational challenges in fleet management. The LAIDNA M2M Platform includes a full OTA update campaign manager. Administrators can define a target group (by device model, firmware version, or fleet tag), upload a firmware package, set a deployment schedule, and monitor rollout progress in real time. UNECE R156-compliant rollback protection ensures that any failed update automatically reverts to the last stable version.

Driver Safety — DMS and ADAS Integration

Connected ADAS cameras stream event data to the platform in real time. The driver monitoring system feeds fatigue scores, distraction events, and compliance data. Each driver receives an automated safety score card updated at the end of every trip. Managers can set threshold-based policies — for example, automatically flagging drivers whose fatigue score exceeds a defined level and scheduling mandatory rest stops.

User and Device Authorization

Enterprise fleets involve multiple stakeholders: fleet managers, regional supervisors, drivers, maintenance teams, and partner logistics companies. The platform's role-based access control (RBAC) engine lets administrators create device groups and assign fine-grained permissions. A regional manager might see only vehicles in their territory. A partner company might receive live position data but not have access to video feeds. Drivers can access a mobile-optimized view of their own trip reports without visibility into the broader fleet.

Subscription Management and Billing

Platform access is subscription-based, billed per device. Activating a new device is a three-click process from the dashboard — select the device, choose a plan, and confirm. Deactivation is equally instant. Invoices are generated automatically, and the integrated billing engine supports multi-currency payments with detailed usage breakdowns per device and per period.

How to Get Started

Any LAIDNA telematics hardware ships pre-configured for M2M Platform connectivity. Third-party JT/T 808 or MQTT devices simply need the platform's server endpoint configured in their settings. Once the device registers, it appears in your dashboard within seconds.

  1. Create a partner account at laidna.com and request platform access.
  2. Install your hardware — any LAIDNA telematics unit or compatible JT/T 808 device.
  3. Activate your subscription and watch your fleet come alive on the map.
