Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are the most requested infotainment features in the aftermarket segment. Drivers want seamless smartphone integration without USB cables — and several proven solutions exist today.
Option 1: Aftermarket Android Head Unit
The most common approach is replacing the factory head unit with an Android-based system that has built-in wireless CarPlay/Android Auto support. These units connect to the phone via Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth, providing wireless projection alongside full Android app capabilities.
Option 2: Wireless Adapter Module
For vehicles with factory wired CarPlay, a small USB adapter can convert it to wireless. These adapters plug into the existing USB port and create a Wi-Fi bridge to the phone. Setup takes under a minute — no wiring changes required.
Option 3: Portable CarPlay Screen
7″–10″ standalone CarPlay displays that mount on the dashboard and connect wirelessly. Ideal for older vehicles or commercial fleets where head unit replacement isn't practical.
